PA Otero confesses Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior; He believes the Lord has equipped him to serve his patients so that they may live the best life possible while on the earth. He loves Sonia, his wife, and his children and grandchildren. He is very thankful for the years he has had to serve his patients. He and his wife founded Trinity Family Medicine. PC. PA Otero is a native New Mexican who became interested in medicine after a first aid course in grade school. 

He earned a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education with a minor in biology from the UNM, with a Masters's degree in Education emphasizing sports administration also from UNM. PA Otero has worked as an athletic trainer (sports medicine) before proceeding to Wake Forest University to complete a two-year Physician Assistant Certificate Program in 1993. He has provided Family practice services in various settings, including federally qualified healthcare clinics, a private practice, a group practice, a rural clinic, a hospital-owned practice. He has practiced in rural eastern New Mexico 1992-1995 and from 1998 to the present, with two years of that being in Farwell, TX, four years in Portales, NM, and the rest in Clovis NM.  

He started membership as a student member of the New Mexico Association of PA's in 1990 and continues as a Fellow member. He has been Director at large from 1994 to 95', from 1997 to 2018.    

He was appointed to the New Mexico Medical Board to serve on the Physician Assistant Advisory Committee from June 1999 to June 2003, serving as committee Chairperson from 2001-2003. He was also appointed to the New Mexico Medical Board as a Board Member on June 14, 2018, serving the board for just over a year.  

PA Otero has received comprehensive training from the Institute of Functional Medicine to provide Family Medicine better to address the root causes of disease. He works diligently with his patients to obtain and maintain their wellness and helps them when illness presents.
